The Takeaway
22 Jul 2019
Ever since the introduction of GDPR on 25 May 2018, there seems to be a news story – often front page news – every day, relating to GDPR and data protection. Normally EU news is just that – news in the EU. But, with GDPR’s extra-territorial application, it practically applies to most every business in the world today. And, with law makers around the world looking to GDPR as the “gold standard” of privacy legislation, it could be argued that GDPR is, perhaps, more important outside of Europe than it is within it.
With that in mind, Avishai Ostrin, our head of privacy and date protection, sets out to provide quality reporting about GDPR news-of-the-day, with the unique angle of how that news relates to individuals and businesses outside of the EU. I couldn’t find one. This blog will focus on bringing you his thoughts, insights and ideas on the latest GDPR-related news, with the non-EU corporate and businessperson – trying to grapple with this massive, ever-changing area of European law – in mind. We welcome your comments, thoughts, questions, and recommendations.
