Michael is a US Partner at Asserson, serving on the Dispute Resolution team. He is a US-qualified attorney with substantial experience advising clients in high-stakes, complex litigation in the United States. 

For over three decades, Michael has focused on U.S. business litigation in wide ranging subject areas, and he has tried multiple cases in federal and state court as well as in arbitration. In addition to trials and appeals, Michael is also an experienced legal counselor to business owners and corporate executives.


In addition to trial practice and general counsel services, Michael serves as a panelist on the American Arbitration Association National Roster of Arbitrators and regularly arbitrates commercial and employment disputes.

Recent Experience

Michael represented Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as lead trial counsel in a state-wide litigation, arising from school mask mandates in Florida’s public schools. He was lead trial counsel in an arbitration matter on behalf of a Class 1 railroad company, asserting a breach of contract claim against one of the country’s largest coal mining and coal shipping firms.

Michael acted as Co-counsel in a US federal court action on behalf of Florida’s largest health insurance firm, as well as in a US federal court action on behalf of one of the leading providers of wireless communications services.

Education

Michael holds a BA with Distinction from the University of Virginia (1988) and graduated with a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law (1991). 

Michael is an avid runner and has completed multiple half and full marathons. Having relocated to Israel from Florida in 2023, Michael is putting his Hebrew language skills to work, but is still figuring out where to watch American football.
