Elliot Lister

Elliot is an experienced litigator with a track record of success in complex and challenging litigation and international arbitrations. 

Elliot’s international client base includes some of Israel’s largest companies, and he is happy to advise in both Hebrew and English. He has higher rights of audience and has acted as lead counsel in a number of arbitrations. He regularly advises Israeli firms on English law issues and provides expert legal opinions on English law.

Examples of recent work:

• Acted for one of Israel’s largest industrial concerns in successfully resisting a liquidator’s seven-figure sterling unfair preference claim arising from the insolvency of one of its customers
• Acting as a solicitor advocate for an Israeli client in successfully defending a multimillion-pound international arbitration in the LCIA following a 4-day hearing and defeating a challenge to the Award in a rehearing in the Commercial Court 
• Acting for a Jewish Orthodox Housing Association in defeating allegations of discrimination in judicial review proceedings in the Divisional Court in the Court of Appeal 
• Acted in a major multi-jurisdictional fraud and breach of fiduciary claim concerning a multi-million pound development project in central London involving worldwide freezing orders; summary judgment on part of the claim; an appeal; international enforcement measures; third party costs claim against funders; and an Insolvency Act claim to reverse
