Joel Chester

Joel joined Asserson in March 2025 as an associate in the Business Law team. Joel is the first Australian participant of the Asserson Associate Programme.

Before joining Asserson, Joel worked at Arnold Bloch Leibler, a leading Australian commercial law firm, where he specialised in public and private M&A, business acquisitions, privacy and data security, and corporate advisory work. In 2021, he gained international experience through an internship at the Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations, assisting then-Ambassador Gilad Erdan.

Joel studied Law (Honours) and Commerce, specialising in Finance, at Monash University. During his studies, he spent a semester at Tel Aviv University, focusing on Mergers & Acquisitions and Intellectual Property Law.

Outside of work, Joel is a proficient guitarist, pianist and singer, and an avid supporter of Australian Rules Football and the English Premier League.
