Asserson Planning Powers Old Oak’s South-East Face
30 Jul 2017
Asserson’s Planning team has helped clients win consent for a total of 500 units, including a cluster of towers in excess of 15 storeys, along the south-eastern side of leading London Regeneration area Old Oak.
The team, led by Head of Planning Daniel Drukarz and including experienced Planning partner Marianne Barker as well as James Kon, worked with 25 different consultancies to submit the successful planning applications. Their work has included input into the development of the policy framework for the area and many hours spent with planning officials since original proposals did not include towers in this part of the site.
The units include 200 to be built as a private rental scheme with a 15 year covenant to guarantee this tenure. There is substantial institutional investment interest currently in London’s emerging PRS model.
Old Oak is a regeneration area located in West London, and will include London’s largest new rail station in a century to accommodate HS2 and Crossrail, as well as more than 25,000 new homes in total. A number of different developers are involved in bringing forward elements of the scheme.
