Howard Rubenstein

Howard is the Managing Partner and Head of Corporate at Asserson, having joined the firm in 2016.

He is a highly experienced corporate lawyer and business leader, with extensive board-level expertise in shaping strategy and delivering complex business transactions, both in-house and in private practice. Over the past 20 years, Howard has held senior leadership roles within global blue-chip organisations, including EY (Senior Legal Counsel), Sara Lee Corporation (European Counsel) and Yell Group PLC (General Counsel, Company Secretary and Director of Operations).

As Head of Corporate at Asserson, Howard has led significant transactions for multinational corporations and acts as a strategic legal adviser to a range of private clients and businesses, providing commercially focused and pragmatic counsel.

He holds a Master’s degree in Corporate Law from King’s College London.

Outside work, Howard is a keen mountain biker and an enthusiastic supporter of Tottenham Hotspur.

Experience

• Transaction lead on multiple UK based M&A deals – with values ranging between £10 million and £100 million
• Lead adviser to a number of private entrepreneurs and family offices – supporting investment activity in multiple jurisdictions
• Lead adviser to a number of UK corporates on all aspects of day-to-day legal compliance and governance
• Leadership of negotiations and resolution of significant contractual, regulatory and compliance, and tax structuring issues on behalf of corporate and other entities
• Negotiating complex commercial agreements on behalf of one of the world’s top four global consulting firms
