Joshua joined the partnership in 2026, having started at the firm as a trainee in 2016. He leads Asserson’s transactional real estate team. 

Joshua’s practice focuses on big-ticket disposals and acquisitions and high-value commercial leasing. He is regularly instructed to act on the sale and purchase of office buildings, shopping centres, large industrial sites, residential blocks and development land. 

He also advises lenders and borrowers on property finance and has experience negotiating forward funding and development finance agreements. 

Some examples of Joshua’s recent instructions:

• Advising an American investor on the acquisition of industrial sites with a leaseback to the seller. The transaction value was over £25 million.
• Acting on a complex refinancing of central London premises let on long commercial leases, valued at over £10 million.
• Advising on the sale of a landmark central Manchester property undergoing conversion from office to residential use for over £10 million.
• Advising on the acquisition of a portfolio of sites for data centre use, with a total value in excess of £100 million.
• Acting on the acquisition of port facilities for international shipping use, valued at over £10 million.
• Advising on the acquisition of fully let residential blocks in the north of England for an Australian fund, with combined deal value of circa £30 million.
