Oliver Harris

Oliver (Ollie) is a Senior Consultant in the Business Law team at Asserson, having joined the firm in 2011.  He headed Asserson’s Corporate and Commercial Department from 2013 to 2016.

Ollie has extensive experience in corporate, employment and commercial matters. He regularly acts on a range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues, advising on contractual arrangements and equity packages for senior management. Ollie helps clients deal with contentious issues, including employment disputes and tribunal proceedings. He regularly advises clients on investments, financings, private acquisitions and joint ventures.

Ollie’s clients include a range of businesses, investors and senior management. He has published a number of articles on corporate governance, private acquisitions and employment issues.

Recent Experience

On the Corporate side, Ollie acted on a venture capital investment into a travel business and structured the management incentivisation scheme. He advising a private equity firm on a $20 million investment into one of its portfolio companies. including a complex subscription agreement and shareholder agreement.

On the Employment side, he successfully defended whistleblowing claims made by a former CEO against a well-known charity and has negotiated settlements in a range of contentious employment situations and tribunal proceedings.

He successfully defended a major luxury jewellery retailer against proceedings brought by two senior employees in the UK tribunals, with claims of approx. £400,000, and negotiated complex employment and incentivisation packages for various CEOs and senior management, in particular senior management joining private equity backed businesses.

Education

Ollie graduated with first class honours in Modern History from Oxford University. 

He enjoys reading, cycling and spending time with his children.
