Yisrael Hiller

Yisrael is a partner in Asserson’s English dispute resolution department and is also head of the firm’s U.S. practice. He has been a dual-qualified lawyer practicing in the United States and in England and Wales for over 15 years and has been recognised in Legal 500 for his work on high-stakes cases in both jurisdictions.
Yisrael and his team have a specialty practice helping clients defend reputations and deal with defamatory or intrusive media coverage. They have successfully represented multi-national companies, celebrities, a former Prime Minister and other high-profile individuals in reputation management cases drawing global attention and in complex litigations involving privacy, defamation and media law.
Recent matters:
- Defending USD 3 billion litigation in both the Florida courts and the High Court in England, involving complex claims of civil fraud and conspiracy.
- Successful dismissal of claims against Italian/English clients in SDNY in connection with the world’s largest collection of privately owned ancient statuary.
- Successful action in defamation in the English Courts for a C-suite executive of a major European banking corporation.
- Acting for former Prime Minster in relation to reputation management dispute with sitting Prime Minister.
- Acting for public figure in connection with claims against the BBC for defamation, breach of privacy and related reputation-management issues.
